TRACY BROWN, M.A., M.P.P. CHAIR AND PRESIDENT

Tracy Brown has thirty years as a seasoned professional in the area of diversity, equal opportunity and inclusion leadership in private, government and non-profit organizations.  Tracy started her career as a Marketing Administrator for IBM. To pursue her passion for public service, she started her government career working for the WA State Human Rights Commission. She has held positions as a Chief Diversity Officer, Director, Executive Director, Program Manager and state and federal civil rights investigator. Tracy attributes her passion for the furtherance of civil and human rights due to her parents, brothers and sisters, and her great grand uncle Dr. George Edmund Haynes, co-founder of the National Urban League (1910). Dr. Haynes, established the National Urban League one year after W.E.B Dubois established the N.A.A.C.P. (1909) Both Haynes and Dubois were friends, intricate to the “Black Renaissance”, and attended Fisk University in the late 1880’s. “Papa” as he is referred by family, was the first African American to receive a sociology doctorate degree from Columbia University.

Tracy graduated with honors in both of her graduate degree programs. She earned a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University, an Executive Masters in Not-for-Profit Leadership from Seattle University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington. Tracy earned two JFK Executive Education Certificates from Harvard University. Tracy is a graduate of a host of local, regional and national leadership programs. She is also a member of the Harvard Club of Boston Rainier Club and Sunset Club in Seattle, WA

DR. SUSAN FAUST BUTLER, TREASURER

For seventeen (17) plus years, Dr. Susan Butler serves as the Co-Principal Investigator within the Lab for Probabilistic Reasoning at Tufts University.

Outside of the “Lab” she works on the challenge of sustainability, both policy and practice, but particularly in the retrofitting of existing building stock. Dr. Butler is an environmentalist and spends hours dedicating her life to address climate change and energy efficiency. 

Sue received her PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Tufts University and her BSN and MSN Community Mental Health in Nursing.

JACALYN WALLACE, MA Ed SECRETARY AND PARLIAMENTARIAN

Ms. Wallace has over thirty years working in for-profit, not-for profit and government. She worked for Verizon, NYNEX, Urban League of MA and others. 

She is a strategic, tactical and operational executive with proven performance in Human Resources, Program Operations and Administration. Jacalyn specializes in customer services, talent acquisition, budget management, database management, diversity and inclusion, fundraising, public relations, marketing and training and development. 

She has an E.d.M in Human Resources and Education from Boston University, and her MA and BA in Education, both from Michigan State University.

SCOTT HEDGE, B.A. BOARD MEMBER

Scott has worked in Healthcare for almost 4 decades. Currently, Scott is the Area Director of Health Information for Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara and San Jose, having started in 2009. Scott has worked for other larger Heath Care systems, such as Sutter Health, University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Auburn Regional Medical Center, and Medical Homecare.

A native Seattle, Scott attended Lakeside High School and the University of Washington, with a BA in Business/Finance. Scott currently resides in the Bay Area, living in Northern California since 2002.

TIARA HILL, BOARD MEMBER

Tiara Hill has over thirteen (13) years of early learning experience in the public school system. Prior to dedicating her life to guiding parent and educating young learners, she owned and operated a hair salon for forty years. 

Tiara enjoys partnering with parents and providing them with strategies on how to effectively motivate and encourage their child(ren) to enjoy school, work hard and reach their full potential. She believes in excellence and is committed to preparing her students for their bright future ahead.

ALLEN STOWERS, M.A. BOARD MEMBER

Allen Stowers has over forty years of experience and accomplishments as an educator. His distinguished careers began as the first Executive Director of the Parent Child Center in Oakland CA. He returned to Seattle and spent ten years working for the City of Seattle in HR.

He returned to teaching and obtained a tenured faculty position in Social Justice, Anthropology, and Human Resources at South Seattle College. Allen has served on numerous boards within the city of Seattle area working to providing affordable housing.

He is the recipient of the Martin Luther King Community Service Award and earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees both at Western Washington University.

GREG AIKENS, ALB, ALM COO / CFO, Special Housing Services

Greg brings twenty-three years of experience to Healthy Smart Homes through his knowledge of economics, finance, residential, commercial and construction real estate financing and business valuation. His collaborative leadership style and management skills compliment an extensive sales and business development expertise.  Greg generated $60 million worth of business for Citibank, received nine Galaxy of Stars accommodations and captured Citibank’s coveted MVP Award during his tenure.  Greg is a graduate of Lakeside School and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, magna cum laude, and a Master degree in Finance, cum laude, from Harvard University.  He currently serves as a member of the Baber-Scotia College President’s Advisory Board. Greg is a member of the Harvard Club of Boston and the Rainier Club in Seattle.

ROSS BAKER, JD Outreach & Development Officer

Ross is an accomplished public policy and government relations professional, with a J.D. and more than 15 years’ experience delivering results in support of state, local and federal government issues.

He is a Clinical Assistant adjunct faculty member within the School of Public Health at the University of Washington. Previously he was employed at the following organizations: Virginia Mason as Director, Public Policy for Virginia Mason, Regency Blue Shield as Manager, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, King County Council Chief of Staff, Chief of Staff or former Councilman Larry Gossett, and Lifelong AIDS Alliance as Director of Government Affairs.

Ross has a J.D. Northwestern Law School, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremount McKenna College and is a graduate of Lakeside High School.

TONI CARR, BA Executive Project and IT Specialist

Toni Carr has over six years of experience in Project Manager/Social Media/IT Specialty on various non-profit projects. 

She has experience in project and program coordination managing as she has served as social media manager for in Tech For Girls non-profit program for young girls in computing. Toni has also interned at companies such as Google and Microsoft as a Program management intern. 

Additionally, she had previous experience as a travel agent where she learned leadership and coordination skills.
